VONSUNG is committed to empowering the next generation of data scientists and statisticians. This commitment took a significant step forward through the R training provided by VONSUNG data analysis experts, to the Applied Statistics Students' Association (ASSA-UR) at the University of Rwanda. This training was organized as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VONSUNG and ASSA-UR and aimed to equip students with practical skills to thrive in data-driven industries.

R is one of the most powerful tools for statistical computing and data visualization. R enables professionals to handle large datasets, build sophisticated models, solve real-world problems with precision. The training was designed to help students:

• Develop a strong foundation in R programming.
• Learn how to clean, manipulate, and analyze data efficiently.
• Master the art of creating impactful data visualizations to convey insights effectively.

What we covered:

The training was tailored to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. Key topics included:

1. Introduction to R: Basics of the language, installing packages, and understanding the RStudio interface.
2. Data Manipulation: Using libraries like dplyr and tidyr to clean and reshape data.
3. Data Visualization: Creating stunning visualizations using ggplot2 to tell compelling stories.
4. Statistical Analysis: Performing regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and exploratory data analysis.
5. Real-World Applications: Practical examples that align with challenges in statistics and data science.

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their newfound confidence in applying R to both academic and professional projects. VONSUNG remains committed to fostering talent and building a community where knowledge sharing and innovation thrive.
